Where have I been??
Hi there! Yes I know, it's quite a while since I've written a blog. Life is just so exciting that these website blogging stuff is always put aside on the forever rising "to do" pile LOL But here I am just to give a little update to just state that yes I'm still running Darwin Dream Weddings! Some of the exciting things that have been happening in my world is my new ventures in my other little businesses I run. Here is the list of services my husband and I juggle in between raising our 3 beautiful children. 1 of which is a teenager so as you can imagine, family life can get quite hectic with what they bring to the mix. So back to my list.....
> Eventfully Yours - the parent company, our bread and butter, our pride and joy. This time of year in Darwin is quiet for us as far as catering, so I get to catch up on few administrative type of tasks as well as marketing and advertising. We have a very stable wedding market that takes over our lives during the months of May through til August.
Our corporate clientele is steady with regular work from companies such as NT Major Events Company, National Critical Care & Trauma Response Centre (NT Dept of Health), Conoco Phillips, Darwin Port, The Venue at Fannie Bay. Cocktail functions & finger food platters, dinner buffets and plated dinners are the main services we seem to be getting booked for and renowned for our unique menus.
We have a wonderful opportunity upcoming next month with the Office of Asian Engagement, Trade and Investment (NT Department of Business) doing their Red Carpet event for 100 people plated 3 course dinner with a menu designed with a focus on Territory foods and flavours.
Along with our 21 weddings we are catering for this upcoming dry season, my 2 daughters have taken the initiative to start their own little catering service called Dinner2U.

> Darwin Dream Weddings - my wedding coordination focus. I have just recently visited Perth where my sister-in-law Maeline operates 'Wedding Day Flair', we did 8 weddings in one weekend! Her & her husband's business called WA Chair Hire offer 6 different styles of chairs for any occasion. I helped with delivering up to 300 chairs just last weekend.
> Designer Events Bali - specialising in events held in Bali. Over the years we have visited Bali a number of times, and Glen speaks fluent Indonesian (he infact lived in Bali when he was around 9 years old for a couple of years, his father is Chinese living in Indonesia). This aspect of the company is on a slight hold. We still hope to one day find a small boutique villa, possible build one or buy an existing one, and there we can offer a venue to hold small events and weddings. It's kind of part of our retirement plan so when the kids are all grown up and left home, Glen and I can relax and enjoy each other again and live the simple life in beautiful Bali. But our lives have done a slight turn to the South-West, where we have decided just end of last year to relocate to Perth. So let the Perth ventures develop and we are very excited to switch our focus on our new Perth ideas!
